A man in Vietnam has hair measuring an amazing 6.3 meters (over 20 feet). Maybe needs a wash though.

Man Grows World's Longest Hair

Tran Van Hay may have the world's longest hair. At approximately 6.2 meters long the 73 year-old vietnamese man keeps it balanced on his head under a scarf and it looks like a giant turban. He unravels it for visitors and his wife lays it out on the table to show them just how long it is.

Man with the world’s longest hair dies

Tran Van Hay’s unwashed hair was never officially measured for a record attempt though it is thought his hair measured up to 6.8 metres. He passed away today from a natural cause.


The official world record for the longest hair is held by China’s Xie Qiuping, measured at 5.6 metres in 2004, according to the Guinness World Records.


79-year-old Hay began to let his hair grow more than 50 years ago because he often got sick after a haircut, the Vietnam News quoted his wife, Nguyen Thi Hoa, as saying. It was reported that his hair was measured in 2006 at 6.2 metres.
