Angelica and Angelina Sabuco, once conjoined twins, are now preparing to leave the hospital - in separate car seats.

It's been two weeks since the twins' successful separation surgery at the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford University. And the hospital says they're ready to return to their San Jose home in a few days.

Angelica is the smaller twin, but she appeared to be more aggressive than Angelina as she maneuvered for space on the small table to draw.
The 2-year-old sisters are attached at the chest and abdomen; they walk, and even run together. When Angelica coughs, her quieter sister, Angelina, gently pats her back.
When the pair awake after a complex surgery today at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford, Angelina and Angelica Sabuco are expected to be two separate little girls, free to run in different directions.
"Our expectation is we will have two healthy girls at the end of the procedure, although we recognize it's a fairly risky procedure," said the lead surgeon, Dr. Gary Hartman, who has performed separations of five sets of conjoined twins, including the first successful separation at Packard in November 2007.
